BRIDGE Program Phase 4
Phase 3 (full proposal submission) of the BRIDGE Program has now closed and we are moving into Phase 4 (internal review process and selection). Thank you to all the teams who submitted their proposal! We want to let you know we appreciate your hard work and dedication in preparing your submission.
The internal review process will include an evaluation and scoring of the full proposals by a review committee, presentations of the finalists to the Provost Leadership Team, selection of proposals for award, and a notification to all teams of the proposals selected for funding.
Be sure to review the information on the program webpage to understand the proposal review criteria. Please reach out to our team if you have any questions or need assistance.

Sam Houston State University has subscribed to GrantForward's Funding Search service (replacing PIVOT), which is open to all members of our institution
GrantForward helps you find grant opportunities that suit your research needs with a database of grants from over 20,000 sponsors, including federal, private, non-profit, and foundations. GrantForward also allows the creation of researcher profiles, so you can receive relevant grant alerts and save your favorite searches.

USDA PPA WorkshopsAre you a faculty member interested in agriculture, food, and natural resources? Then the USDA Plant Protection Act 7721 program is worth your consideration! Please join us for an introductory meeting to learn more about the funding topics and timeline!
We will be hosting two workshops in June. Our office is located at 2424 Sam Houston Ave (in the Sam South Plaza where UPD and Facilities are located).

Scholarly Innovation Summit
We will be hosting a Research Fair on Tuesday, September 26 as part of the the Scholarly Innovation Summit. Submission acceptances to the fair have been announced. To be added to the waitlist for consideration, please email Sarah Browning.
Our team has developed research posters to provide you with resources to use in your presentation. As a reminder, posters accepted into the fair will be paid for by ORSP if printed on-campus.
Consider Adding Summit to Syllabi
Please consider adding the Scholarly Summit to your syllabus. This would allow you to attend sessions that are of interest to your professional development, and it would also give your students the opportunity to attend sessions that are tailored to their interests.

As we get closer to the date, we will highlight a different session each month to inform you of the different subjects and topics covered in the Summit. This month's session is The ABCs of Grant Management: Award, Budget, Compliance
Presenter: Maribeth Start
Description: This workshop is designed to provide researchers with practical knowledge on managing and planning for the spending of research grants. Participants will learn what to expect during the award setup and management process, including compliance requirements and reporting responsibilities. DOJ Funding Now Open
The Department of Justice (DOJ) has announced its funding plan for FY23. DOJ offers funding opportunities to support law enforcement and public safety activities in state, local, and tribal jurisdictions; to assist victims of crime; and to implement programs that improve the criminal, civil, and juvenile justice systems.
Our team has created this funding page to enhance the pursuit of DOJ funding. This page includes open solicitations we are eligible to apply to from DOJ's grant-making components National Institute of Justice (NIJ), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), and Office on Violence Against Women (OVW).

EURECA!The SHSU Center for Enhancing Undergraduate Research Experiences and Creative Activities (EURECA) advances the culture of scholarly and creative excellence by cultivating and developing faculty-mentored, discipline-specific inquiry among undergraduate students.
The Center also educates undergraduate students about how discipline-specific inquiry enriches the academic experience and helps them realize professional goals. NSF Plans for Safe & Inclusive Work Environment When Conducting Off-Campus Research
New or renewal proposals to the National Science Foundation (NSF) submitted January 30, 2023 or later that are funded will require that PIs take an additional step to safeguard participants when engaging in off-campus research activities. If you already have a grant identified and are ready to begin the development of documents then submit a Pre-Proposal Notification (PPN) form, and we will get a team assigned to assist you in the preparation and submission process.
