Ohio Governor Mike DeWine appointed Cleveland State alumna Nikki Byrd to the University’s Board of Trustees, and current CSU Electrical Engineering major Akshat Shah was appointed to a two-year term as Student Representative for the Board of Trustees.

Cleveland’s Chief Corporate Counsel Ronda Curtis has won the 2023 International Municipal Lawyers’ Association Distinguished Public Service Award. Chief Curtis is the City of Cleveland’s Chief Corporate Counsel, has been instrumental in reviewing and drafting contracts and legislation for both Mayor Bibb and Cleveland City Council. Ms. Curtis has mastered these skills over the years and her work has positively impacted the lives of Cleveland residents. Additionally, she is a proud graduate of Cleveland State University’s College of Law and has served as the past Chair of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s Government Attorney Section. Congratulations Chief Curtis!

It's almost time to welcome our students back to campus during our Week of Welcome (WOW) organized by The Center for Campus Engagement! This year, WOW will occur from Thursday, August 24, to Friday, September 1. It will include our traditional CSU events, such as Bingo for Books (August 29) and MagnusFest (taking place this year on Friday, August 31), with the addition of new events like the New Student Convocation (Saturday, August 26) and the All That's Green is Gold party (August 27).
