Dear Cub Family,
As you all know, I have been on a listening tour with a wide variety of groups and individuals who play a vital role in the success of our students, our school and beyond.
The past two weeks have been especially exciting in that regard. First, I had the pleasure of hosting EBR Schools Superintendent Sito Narcisse and his team, along with LSU College of Human Sciences & Education Dean Roland Mitchell and members of the LSU School of Education faculty. Together, we shared visions and plans for intentional progress.
Future collaborations like these go to the heart of our school's Mission and Vision of providing the highest standards of effective instructional delivery and assessment while also serving as a demonstration school for the state of Louisiana and a unique environment where academic research and professional development outreach to other school systems and pre-service teachers thrive.
I also recently had the pleasure of hosting a Baton Rouge Rotary Club luncheon here at ULS. Many local leaders were in attendance, and the education of our city's young people was at the forefront of our conversation. At the end of the luncheon, Rotary members were invited to tour our school and hear about the exemplary programs in which our students engage.
Thank you to the 53 community members who have completed the Director's Plan Feedback Form and the additional 192 who have begun a submission. I am reading every one! The input shared has been very helpful as I continue to listen and learn and as I near the halfway mark of my first 100 days as the new ULS Director.
Also, for your convenience, links to my 100-Day Plan and Feedback Form are included at the end of this email. The Feedback Form will be available through September 18. Please continue to share your thoughts and ideas with me.
As always, thank you all for your time and dedication to our school.
Sincerely,
Kevin R. George
