Dear NSDE Day Captain,

Thank you for signing up your team to participate in promoting National Speech and Debate Education Day on March 1! So far, we’ve had more schools commit to participate this year than we did last year—so we’re thrilled to put on our biggest celebration yet!

Our NSDA staff is working hard to plan the best day possible, but your participation is how we honor NSDE Day in every state, city, and school. We couldn’t do this without you!

As you start to ramp up your efforts for promoting the day, don’t forget to check in on these resources to help your planning:

Promotional Packet: This will include promotional information and materials for your team to plan and use in your school’s efforts around the day. Your packet will arrive in your mailbox in the next few days.

Weekly Emails: We will help you stay on track and provide updated information, reminders, and additional ideas on how to make the day a success. Don’t forget to check your inbox.

Visit www.SpeechAndDebateDay.org: Get access to additional promotional information and materials, including the NSDE Day logo.

We are now 52 days from March 1, so here are a few suggestions on getting started:

Choose your NSDE Day captain or planning committee! This is a great opportunity for a student, parent, or assistant coach/volunteer to get involved and take ownership of a major team event! Planning this celebration is easier if the burden isn’t all on your shoulders.
Review the packet you will receive in the mail soon. Don’t forget to read the toolkit for ideas, planning tips, and more!
Start planning! Discuss ideas for promoting the day in your school and local community, including social media. Find additional graphics and items to use on the National Speech and Debate Education Day website.
Explore more resources on our website to make your celebration even better.

National Speech and Debate Education Day is a special day for all of us involved in the activity. We could not be more excited to have a national day dedicated to recognizing you, your team, and all you put into speech and debate. We appreciate your team participating and look forward to seeing what you and your students will do to honor this great activity.

We cannot wait to celebrate the day with you and others on March 1!
