CROP, a student-led biennial publication of the Huckabee College of Architecture, is still accepting submissions for the 2025 edition of the journal, CROP XI. Students are invited to submit their work, including design projects, essays, photography, research, creative explorations in architecture and the built environment, or other projects.
The submission deadline is March 31st, 2025. Scan the QR code on found on CROP posters throughout the building or click here to access submission guidelines and upload your work.

Assistant Professor Erin Hunt and Assistant Professor Dr. Piyush Khairnar have received the Research Incentive Award for 2025 from the Architecture Research Centers Consortium (ARCC) for their research proposal titled, Developing Thin Shell Structures Using Discretized Unreinforced Concrete Elements with 3D-Printed Clay Formwork.
Award recipients were selected by ARCC’s Board of Directors and Officers. Review and deliberation were consistent with rigorous peer-review where nominees and proposals were debated on their own merits.

Join Assistant Professor Nero Chenxuan He and Jimmy Wei-Chun Cheng for a round table conversation titled, "The Domestic Game" with Professor Chris Taylor and Assistant Professor Erin Hunt
The event will be held on April 7th, 2025, at the Quasi-Design Lab at 6:00 PM CT.
“The Domestic Game” is an installation conceived by Nero Chenxuan He, featuring a custom-designed game interface developed with technological support from Carnegie Mellon University Professor Jimmy Wei-Chun Cheng. The interface functions as a drawing machine, offering users a quasi-autonomous design experience for generating domestic interior artifacts.

Amy Peterman, Unit Manager for Undergraduate Advising, and Vondee Langehennig, Senior Academic Advisor, attended the NACADA Region 3/7 Conference titled “From Graceland to Greatness: Inspiring Success Through Advising,” held in Memphis, TN, from March 4-7, 2025.
Amy Peterman served as the Keynote Coordinator on the Conference Planning Committee for Region 7, where she was responsible for securing keynote speakers Dr. Donovan Livingston and Nathan Vickers for the opening and closing sessions. She also presented a session titled “Comeback Special: Rockin’ Student Transitions to Success,” in which she shared strategies for academic advisors to support students as they navigate transitions throughout their academic careers.
Both Amy and Vondee actively participated in discussions with academic advisors from Region 3 (Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia) and Region 7 (Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas). They engaged in exploring the latest research and trends in academic advising, furthering NACADA's mission to support quality academic advising to enhance students' educational development.

Vondee Langehennig, Senior Academic Advisor, and Amy Peterman, Unit Manager for Undergraduate Advising, co-presented at the Office of Advising Excellence Advisor Power Conference on March 10, 2025, at Texas Tech University.
Their session, titled “Supporting Spanish Speaking Families at RRO: Inclusive Orientation for a Supportive Campus Experience,” highlighted Student Services’ comprehensive approach to supporting Spanish-speaking families during Red Raider Orientation (RRO). They discussed the implementation of live translation in all college presentations at RRO, ensuring an inclusive and supportive environment for families, where they can feel heard, understood, and valued. The presentation was part of an event aimed at providing valuable insights and strategies for those involved in enhancing the RRO experience for students, parents, advisors, staff, and faculty.
