Introducing: Ingenious Spaces!
In 2020, Ingenuity Cleveland was commissioned to replace the artwork located at the Cleveland-based Dominion Energy Ohio campus located in the St. Clair-Superior neighborhood. Seeking to create a connection to the neighborhood surrounding the Dominion campus, Ingenuity called for local artists to submit their works to be considered for this project. If their work aligned with Dominion's overall goal of connecting the community to their East 55th Street campus, artists were provided with a cash award for their works. Dominion Energy places focus on human needs, environmental stewardship, education, and community vitality. Over 85 locally-produced, original works are now on display at the Cleveland campus.

We can do the same for you and your business! If you're interested in revitalizing your office art, meeting & supporting local artists whose values align with your business', and connecting with your community at the same time, get in touch with Managing Director Alyssa Perna!

Ingeneer Spotlight:
Ben Smith & The SpliceCream Truck
Ben Smith is a music composer, vintage electronics tinkerer and an overall glass-half-full dreamer with a love for video game music, analog gear of all sorts, and old BBC television programs.
Ben created and manages the SpliceCream Truck - a fully analog mobile recording studio, tucked inside a former mail/Ice cream truck, that was created to “Meet, greet, record, and repeat” with as many people as possible. The goal of the SpliceCream Truck is to interview the underserved and voiceless individuals throughout the city, and to give them a platform so that they can be heard and made visible, not just within their communities, but as a collective society; “Splicing us together”.

In Ben's Own Words:
I actually thought of the idea one day while I was working for a local company. It just came to me directly from the universe, and I quickly drew a picture of it. No more than a week or so later, I found out about a competition to create community-based projects, and the rest is history!
While it started off a local project, as time went on and the word got out, I was invited to several different national festivals and events!
I also wanted them to be able to have a small memento of the experience, so in exchange for the interview, they will receive an ice cream treat! Oh, and did I mention that the interviews are recorded straight onto vinyl, resulting in a 45” record that they can take with them? :)
I have been fortunate enough to have been introduced to Ingenuity through a current Ingeneer, Jacci Hammer. I’ve done a few Neighbor Nights events, with the truck, which I absolutely loved! Knowing that a lot of ingenuity’s programming is community-focused, has kept me wanting to stay involved in the process. I look forward to the next Neighbor Night, and I will be updating the SpliceCream Truck page in the next couple of weeks with the summer programming schedule.

Ingeneer Spotlight:
Kirsten "Kix" Williams
Kirsten Williams was born and raised an artist. Her mother was an art teacher who constantly filled Kix's hands with art supplies and paint. Her grandfather was a woodworker, who taught her how to work with her hands from a young age. Kix took this artistic background and ran with it. In college, she combined all of her passions and ended up working in theater. She's been there ever since! At least, she was, until the pandemic hit. Since 2020, Kix has been finding ways to keep creating - oftentimes at Ingenuity!
Kix's newest venture, Que Sera Sera Design, allows her to work with customers to create the designs of their dreams - whether that's creating custom furniture, lighting features, wall art, or helping you bring your design to life, Que Sera does it all! Follow them on Facebook and Instagram today!

In Kix's Own Words:
"Even though I am anxiously awaiting the return of theatre so I can create with the amazing theatre companies that I work with, it has been so rad to be able to continue creating with Ingenuity. I actually used to be an ingenuity "squatter." I was using a friends pod for about a year until I realized I should come meet these people. So I set up a time to meet with Emily and the team, and I've been smitten ever since! I love creating with these folks! Their minds are full of magic. They tell you a concept, you give your talents and next thing you know, you got a festival!"
