Pollinator Plants!


Saturday, May 13 & Sunday, May 14, 10am-4pm
Celebrate Mother's Day with a beautiful pollinator plant for that special person in your life. Discover many beautiful plants that attract bees, moths, bats, beetles, and butterflies such as Salvias, Epilobium, Ceanothus, Achillea, Lavender, Nepeta, Penstemon, Diplacus, Erigeron, Gaillardia, Gaura, and more.
Visit the Plant Shop at the Main Gate of the Botanical Garden.

Night at the Conservatory: Summer Light Show Opening Night


Friday, May 12, 6:30- 9:00pm (last admission at 7:30pm)
Explore the Conservatory's tropical plant collection after hours with interpretive volunteers and staff and stay until 8:30pm for the start of our new light show, Photosynthesis.
We invite you to bring a picnic to set up on our front lawns as the sun sets. The 30-minute light show will transform the building into a canvas for colorful light art installed by Lumigeek and synched with brand new music composed by Tim Digulla.

Spring at the Japanese Tea Garden


Embrace the peace and tranquility of the Japanese Tea Garden in bloom. Visit the wisteria on the Long Bridge and enjoy a cup of tea among the azaleas.

Virgilia oroboides


Currently blooming in the Botanical Garden, Virgilia oroboides has a proliferation of bright pink, fragrant blooms.  

Family Story Time & Garden Walk


Sunday, May 21, 10-11am
Ease into your Sunday morning with story time and a guided walk in the Botanical Garden. Books are geared toward ages 3+, but all are welcome!

Library Crafts for Kids: Paint a Pot


Sunday, May 14, 2-3pm
Come decorate a clay pot to celebrate your loved ones on Mother's Day. Recommended for ages 4 and up.

Please join us Saturday, May 20 for a lunch celebration and fundraiser benefiting the Gardens of Golden Gate Park – Conservatory of Flowers, Japanese Tea Garden, and San Francisco Botanical Garden.
This inaugural Gala for the Gardens, featuring Author Gary Kamiya, and honoring Annette Huddle and Delle Maxwell, is more than just a reception, auction, and luncheon. It is a golden opportunity to help us sustain these historic garden gems and places of community, and keep them open to all.
