Associate Professor Hyeran Jo published, “Peace in Sudan is elusive for any would-be mediators–but a new window of opportunity has opened for outside intervention.” Hyeran Jo focuses on the ongoing conflict in Sudan, which has resulted in significant casualties and displacement. International mediation efforts have failed to find a resolution, primarily due to a lack of support and perceived biases among the mediators. A potential window for mediation has opened, but challenges such as resource constraints and accomplishing international unity remain.
