Coffee With a Cop
Don’t miss out on an opportunity to engage with Huntsville Police, meet some officers and learn more about what they do at Coffee With a Cop. The event is Wednesday, Oct. 2, from 8-9 a.m. at White Bison Coffee, 2001 Winchester Road NE. Officers and guests who mention “coffee with a cop” will receive a free small coffee.
Community Cleanups
We applaud Green Team's recent efforts to beautify Huntsville, many of which have included participation from young people. Several college groups participated in the National Clean Up Day on Sept. 21 and collected over 226 bags of litter. Those groups included Gamma Phi-A&M, Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc., House Arrest II-Championship Dance Team Inc. Chapter 6, Alabama A&M University, Eta Kappa Tau AAMU, SOAR, The University of Alabama in Huntsville, Rotaract Club, New Century Tech Key Club, Senior Service College Fellowship and National Society of Black Engineers Bulldog Chapter.
Not to be outdone, Oakwood University partnered with the City’s Green Team for their Agape Day of Service and collected 38 bags of furniture and helped remove more than 1,000 pounds of illegally dumped furniture.
