Exceeding the Odds
Last year, more than 55,000 U.S. students applied to medical school, and a majority were turned away. Conversely, in the 2021-22 application cycle, 21 of the 28 TU students comprising the pre-health professions program cohort were admitted to one or more medical schools around the country. Of that total, 60% were admitted to allopathic programs, a high achievement compared with the national success rate for admission, which is only 39%. The close-knit campus community provides the perfect platform to support the academic rigor that propels future physicians.

Dedicated to Diversity
For the seventh year in a row, TU has received a Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine. “It is not lost on us that during this time of political polarity and the assault on DEI in higher education that our work is even more important now,” said Kelli McLoud-Schingen, TU’s vice president for diversity, equity, and inclusion. “Our office remains steadfast in working to ensure that our underrepresented faculty, staff, and students are supported and reminded that they are important to TU and that they belong.”

A Reputation for Research

New and exciting research opportunities occur across The University of Tulsa. Our research environment is one of TU's most distinctive advantages. As a mid-size university, we're large enough to support a vigorous research program yet small enough that our scholars remain visible members of a supportive community.
