Tonight! Q&A with NSDA President and Vice President on Zoom!
Dear District Leader,
It is hard to believe that we've reached the end of 2021! We hope that in the next month you are able to spend time with those you love and also find plenty for time to rest. May we all have a safe, healthy, and speech and debate filled 2022!

Tonight! Q&A with NSDA President and Vice President on Zoom

Four seats on the NSDA Board of Directors are up for election in 2022. Interested candidates must declare their intentions by January 19, 2022. Voting will open in April and results will be announced in May.
To better provide insight and answer questions that individuals may have about serving on the NSDA Board of Directors, President Pam Cady Wycoff and Vice President Dr. Tommie Lindsey, Jr., will hold a Zoom-based Q&A session at 7:00 p.m. CT on Thursday, December 9. For those who have not served as a Board member but may be considering running as a candidate this year or in future years, this one-hour online discussion is an opportunity to ask questions and get information about the roles, responsibilities, and commitments involved with serving in this capacity from two individuals who, together, have more than 30 years of Board service!

Change to Process: National Tournament Legislation Submissions

At the November 16 Competition Rules Board Meeting, the Board approved a new process that changes how National Tournament Congressional Debate legislation will be collected for this year’s tournament. This change in process seeks to expand the number of student voices represented in the legislation collection process by allowing non-qualifiers to submit legislation, removing authorship speeches, and allowing students to vote on legislation that makes the National Tournament docket. This change also shortens the to-do list for district chairs, who will no longer be responsible for collecting legislation from their district members. Students will submit the legislation directly through this form on our website that opens December 10, 2021. All submissions are due on or before February 15, 2022. More details and legislation writing resources will be shared in the coming weeks!
