Dear ATMIA Member,
Confidence continues to grow in cash as a payment method. As restrictions are lifted in Victoria and people begin to return to their spending and consumption habits before the Pandemic, it is becoming clear that the industry can look forward to a robust recovery.

ATMIA has been working hard to promote the interests of the industry, the petition calling for a cash mandate for transactions under $10,000.00, a position first proposed by ATMIA has now received over 6000 signatures. We continue to engage with a broad range of industry groups, businesses, and political groups to build support for the petition. If you have not already signed this petition, please click here. ATMIA also maintains close attention to the advice and regulations issued by government departments, particularly with respect to the use of cash. We will always push for payment choice and reject attempts to reduce that choice to non-cash options.

In October the Reserve Bank released the new $100 banknote. This represents the last stage of the Next Generation Banknote Programme and a crucial investment by the RBA in the future of cash. ATMIA thanks the Reserve Bank’s Industry Engagement team for their excellent communication which enabled the smooth circulation of the new currency. To read more click here

As we all prepare to make the most of the recovery in 2021, ATMIAs virtual conference offers an excellent opportunity to gain new insights and understand the new and exceptional challenges facing the industry. The Asia Pacific 2020 virtual event will be held over three days from 8th- 10th December, this is a great opportunity to hear from regional and global experts from the RBA, Prosegur, Kiwi Bank, Oberthur Cash Protection, ABA Security (Chairperson) KAL ATM Software, Armaguard Group, Cash Alliance Group, Auriga and NextGen ATMs to view the full program click here.
Don't delay and register today.

Stay safe and stay strong.

Thanks
