May 15 Staff Council Professional Development Conference and Appreciation Lunch: Register by May 9
Staff Council will host its annual Professional Development Conference and Staff Appreciation Lunch on May 15. Register for both events or just one of the events. There are both in-person and virtual options for the conference.
The conference features 12 sessions and 4 optional networking sessions. Get excited for a variety of sessions, including (and definitely not limited to):
Negotiating in heels: A female perspective
Cultural competence in the workplace
Finding, retrieving, and using institutional data to help your students and programs thrive
UMKC is "making history" with people and organizations throughout Kansas City
Cultivating inclusive practices in the workplace: Define your role as a change leader
Leadership, it’s for the birds: Lessons from a woodworker
Campus Drive Collecting Donations at Professional Development Conference
Academic Support and Mentoring (ASM), the Dr. Raj Bala Agrawal Care Center, and the Professional Wardrobe Studio will be collecting donations at the May 15 Staff Council Professional Development Conference.
Items requested include:
ASM School Supply Drive: school supplies including notebooks, note cards, pens and pencils, post-it notes, and highlighters.
Care Center: canned fruit and meat, dry pasta, ramen noodles, breakfast items, canned coup, peanut butter and jelly, granola bars, and boxed meals.
UMKC Staff Council Staff Appreciation Week takes place May 13-17. The purpose of this appreciation week is to celebrate our hardworking UMKC staff. We invite all UMKC staff to attend our events, including our signature Staff Appreciation Lunch (happening on the same day as the Staff Council Professional Development Conference). All are welcome at UMKC Staff Council meetings. Meetings generally occur the first Wednesday of every month (unless otherwise noted), from 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. in-person and via Zoom.
