We have received several questions from employees about face masks. Under the revised plan, all people on campus—including faculty, staff, students, vendors, contractors, suppliers, and visitors—should wear face masks while inside campus buildings. Face masks are required in certain situations, specified in the Return to Campus Plan.
You can wear your own face mask. And starting in July, our University will provide two washable and reusable face masks to every faculty, staff, and on-campus student who requests them. More information about how you can obtain face masks will be forthcoming.
I understand you may have more questions about our return to campus. I invite you to visit bsu.edu/coronavirus, a website specifically created to provide information on Ball State’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. It has answers to many of the questions that we are receiving.
Our protocols are consistent with our enduring values, which have sustained Ball State for more than 100 years. One of those values, social responsibility, calls for us to care for ourselves and for our fellow Cardinals. You can demonstrate social responsibility by wearing a face mask to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and to protect others, by maintaining physical distancing, and by staying home if you feel sick or if you believe you have been exposed to the virus.
Thank you for your hard work, your patience, and your commitment to our University.
