Weekly Announcements for March 27, 2026

Baltimore Yearly Meeting's Ministry and Pastoral Care committee has several coffee hours annually to provide a space for Friends region-wide to share ideas, concerns and questions.  The next M&PC Cofee Hours is Tuesday, March 31 from 7-8:30pm on zoom. The queries under which we will gather this time are:

• What Joys and concerns are you experiencing as your Meeting shares on the Spiritual State of the Meeting queries?
• How does your Meeting act in accord with its professed shared beliefs?
• How do we recognize and help each other follow leadings? 

All BYM Friends are invited! 

Hopewell Centre Meeting, Frederick Friends Meeting, Goose Creek Meeting, and Shepherdstown Meeting invite you to a Regional Gathering at Goose Creek Meeting House Sunday, March 29, 2026 9:45 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Meeting for Worship at 9:45 a..m. followed by fellowship, singing, conversation, and a potluck. Please bring a dish to share. As we gather together we will learn from each other and open opportunities to support one another, join efforts, combine energy and output, and grow individually and collectively. Young Friends and children are encouraged to attend. RSVP Requested. 

On Sunday, May 17, Stony Run is excited to be partnering with the Center on Conscience and War for a Conscientious Objector (CO) Training. Participants will leave this 2-hour presentation with:

a clear understanding of what it means to be a CO, how to document their beliefs their beliefs as a CO prior to a potential draft,

the process for registering with the Selective Service System (SSS), understanding the penalties for choosing not to register,

how registration will change at the end of 2026 with automatic registration, and

how to prepare for and respond to a hypothetical draft (including Alternative Civilian Service). Designed for youth and young adults ages 12-25, all are welcome and encouraged to attend. 

BYM Quaker Camps invites Friends of all ages from all camps to join for an alumni campout this Memorial Day weekend! We're kicking off a new tradition that will rotate among the camps, starting at Catoctin in 2026. In these immensely challenging times in our country and our world, come back to camp for a weekend of friends, singing, hiking, fire circle, and your favorite camp recipes. 

Stony Run Friends Meeting library has a complete set of Friends Journals bound for 1956-2014 and unbound for 2015-2022. We no longer need them as they are all available free online. If you are interested in acquiring them or know of some library or Meeting that might want them, please let us know. Email

Spring is right around the corner, and it is time to head out to camp and start getting ready for another awesome summer! Come and see the camps during the most vibrant and beautiful time of the year and help us get for another best season ever!  We will be hosting Workdays at each of the camps to make sure everything is ready for another great summer.  We will have a great time together and get some work done while we are at it.  

• April 4th at Catoctin
• April 11th at Opequon
• April 25th at Catoctin
• May 9th at Shiloh
• May 25th at Catoctin - Special Memorial Day Event!
• May 30th at Opequon
• June 6th at Catoctin

We will get started around 9:30 am and work together until around 4 pm.  We will share a potluck lunch. Beverages and sandwich making will be provided. Please dress for the weather and wear heavy-soled shoes, jeans and bring protective eye wear and work gloves.

Friends under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by a Friend who is older than 18.
