Feeling inspired to write about Mediterranean nature and culture?
The Mediterranean's first environment-themed short story competition—or #MedStoryPrize—is looking for inspiring stories that celebrate the rich biodiversity and culture found in the Mediterranean.

How to enter
As part of RootedEveryday, the #MedStoryPrize welcomes submissions from published and unpublished writers whose work is original and features untold stories from the Mediterranean. Writers must be over 18 years old and be from or living in the Mediterranean eco-regions of Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Greece or Lebanon. Stories should be no longer than 3000 words and must be written in English, Greek, Arabic, Spanish or Portugese.
Participating in the competition is completely free and you can do so online!

Winners will get the opportunity to travel to their national eco-site which includes accommodation, a guided tour and subsistence. Moreover, the winner and finalists will have their stories published in an international eBook!
What kind of stories are the judges looking for?
Stories could draw inspiration from the oral tradition of handing down tales in the ecoregions, struggles of the people, the richness of the land and the urgency for preserving it. The #MedStoryPrize also encourages stories of travel within the Mediterranean that explores the natural world and reveals the ways in which being rooted can lead to change for people and planet.
Feeling inspired? Start writing, or pass this on to a writer you know. Less than 2 weeks to submit your story!
All the best,
Pommelien da Silva Cosme,
