Welcome our New Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
We are thrilled to welcome Paul Porter, Ph.D., to the National Speech & Debate Association team as our Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
We are continuously transforming our organization to reflect and operationalize the values of equity, integrity, respect, leadership, and service. As our Director of DEI, Dr. Porter will seek to expand the involvement of students and coaches from traditionally marginalized and disenfranchised groups in speech and debate, to provide new opportunities for these groups to play a larger role in NSDA decision-making and strategy, and to create a more welcoming and inclusive environment for meaningful participation in speech and debate.

Help us Brag About Your Team!
In addition to the monthly digest administrators receive about new degrees earned by your team, we've added special new communications to administrators when a student earns Premier Distinction or a coach earns their Donus award. These are major milestones for members and we want to make a big deal out of them to your admin, so make sure you've listed their name and email on your school profile to ensure they get our messages.

Submit National Tournament Vaccination Verification by May 15
All in-person tournament attendees must complete the vaccination verification process by May 15. This verification must be completed using the exact email address attendees have listed in Tabroom.com! If another email is used, verification may not be matched up to an attendee's registration and they will be flagged as incomplete. It is vitally important that coaches ensure students and judges complete their verification and all other individuals who are attending the tournament are entered into the school's Tabroom.com registration at the bottom of the
Judges tab. This includes coaches, parents, chaperones, siblings, etc. Attendees entered in Tabroom will receive an email from VaccineCheck prompting them to complete the process and ensure they are cleared to enter tournament venues.
Once an attendee has been verified, their status will be updated in Tabroom.com the next business day. Attendees are not marked as complete in Tabroom until they have completed all relevant steps, including reporting additional doses needed to be fully vaccinated, booster shots due before the event, or a negative test result for those who receive an exemption.
