Week 10: PUNDEMIC FATIGUE EDITION
We hope you’ve found our series of weekly updates helpful, informative and fun -- we’ve definitely had a good time putting it together. We’ll take a brief hiatus during finals week, and look forward to the first Winter Quarter edition on January 8. - Ed.
Yass to Pass/ Not Pass.
Don’t stop studying for finals, but you’ll be able to change your FA20 grading option through Week 4 of Winter Quarter. The Academic Senate and the Senate's Educational Policy Committee will approve retroactive petitions from letter to P/NP beginning January 4. Please visit the COVID-19 Academic Information site for details.
You’ll need to retake your SAT each week.
Your self-administered test, that is. Weekly testing goes into effect for all students (undergrad and grad) after Winter Break on January 2, 2021. Here’s a short video on how to safely complete your self-collection.
Hope Winters eternal.
Things are gonna change, we can feel it. Here’s 21 things that we’re hopeful for in 2021. What are you looking forward to? Let us know at VCSA@ucsd.edu to be featured in an upcoming edition of What We’ve Learned.
Here’s the thing: if you test positive, we need to call you. Because we can’t do that without accurate contact information, please make sure that your phone number is updated in MyStudentChart.
Yoga sans face covering? Nah-mask-ste.
Sequester after unmasked activity, y'all! If you remain on campus but leave for a meal or other recreational activities with others where masks are removed, you will need to sequester for 14 days and resume wearing a face covering in your residential unit. Learn more about the policy.
Must we see, must we do.
We’re all feeling a bit stir crazy. Courtesy of the International Students & Programs Office (ISPO), take a look at these options for exploring on and around campus. Spoiler: the Gliderport is always awesome.
NRST come, NRST served.
We’re extending coverage of the Non-Resident Supplemental Tuition (NRST) for doctoral students. What this means: four COVID-affected quarters will now be excluded from calculation of the three-year NRST waiver during candidacy, and from the calculation of the three-year eligibility for pre-candidacy GSGEI. A mouthful, we know.
The emperor's now closed.
During Winter Break, the UC San Diego campus will officially close for seven days between December 24, 2020 and Friday, January 1, 2021. However, Target, Café Ventanas and Seventh Market will remain open to support our on-campus students. Please visit the HDH FAQ page for more details.
