Why?  The Governor’s proposed 2022-2023 budget has a provision to end the Child Health and Disability Prevention (CHDP) in June 2023. The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) claims that CHDP is no longer needed as DHCS plans to roll-over CHDP’s core functions into the Medi-Cal Managed Care plans as part of CalAIM. We strongly disagree with their assessment!

Important to know: The CHDP program ensures that California’s children and youth in Medi-Cal are cared for by pediatricians and family medical clinicians who are trained, experienced and knowledgeable about pediatric and adolescent care. Read more here
