Commuter Survey: Be Seen, Be Heard, Be Counted

Please participate in a vital commuter survey being conducted by the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) this month. The survey is for commuters and residents in downtown Bethesda (as well as in the County’s five other transportation management districts). Each district is surveyed separately.

Why It’s So Important

Completing the anonymous, online survey ensures that your and other commuters’ mobility choices will be accurately reflected in the data when the County looks at transportation patterns and needs here in Bethesda and beyond.

The survey is the best tool we have to get a trustworthy snapshot of commute behavior. Its results help guide transportation services, budgets, and even development policy, not only locally but around the region.

It’s especially important now as jurisdictions look at all the changes from the pandemic. Around the D.C. region, for example, almost one in ten people changed their travel mode on days they commute, according to the latest State of the Commute report from the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments.

You Could Win $$$

Completing the survey gives you a chance at a weekly $50 gift card prize drawing, plus a grand prize $500 gift card at the end!

For Employers, It’s the Law

County law requires companies with 25 or more employees to distribute the online survey link to all of their employees and urge them to complete it.*

It is also a mandatory part of the transportation demand management plan employers have on file with Montgomery County.

Residential buildings in downtown Bethesda (and in the County’s other transportation management districts) are also participating.*

  * NOTE: If you need the survey in Spanish, please contact Kristen Blackmon at KBlackmon@bethesda.org.

It’s Quick and Easy

The online survey can be completed on a computer, smartphone or tablet.
