Happy spring, Loggers! It's hard to believe another academic year is almost over. Read below for updates on our latest efforts and how you can utilize our services and offerings.Â

Let's talk about ... Puget Sound! |
Our brand awareness campaign is officially underway! The purpose of such a campaign is to increase familiarity with our name and offerings among broad audiences. Keep an eye (and ear!) out for advertisements in our Tacoma and Seattle markets, including:
|
- A 10-second video advertisement in the baggage claim area of the SeaTac airport
- Ads on buses in King County
- Sponsor spots on KNKX
- Full-page ad in South Sound Business
|
Have you ever wondered whether or not to capitalize the word "Logger," how to format times, or when to punctuate academic degrees? Our Style & Inclusive Language Guide is intended to help individuals writing on behalf of the university communicate clearly, effectively, and consistently. Check it out!
A: It's a.m.

Puget Sound's offices of Marketing & Communications and Enrollment Marketing were recently honored by the Collegiate Advertising Awards. Puget Sound won five awards for communications to prospective students, the campus community, and alumni, including Gold Awards for "This Is the Sound" Admissions materials and for a Halloween-themed twist on our mascot, Grizz; Silver Awards for The Hatchet and campus visit materials; and a Bronze Award for a video highlighting student research on the Olympic Peninsula.

* Find driving directions to any building before you arrive.
* Get walking directions between buildings once you're on campus.
Access the map on your mobile device, enable location services, and use it like any other mapping app. Share this tip with visitors to campus and new students!

Last fall we began the process of expanding our suite of registered marks and their assigned classifications to protect the university’s logos against misuse, strengthen our brand equity, and generate revenue from the use of our marks. Now anytime our marks (the institutional logo, university seal, the Loggers seal and logo, and Grizz) are used, they need to be represented with the appropriate designation, either TM or ®.
Licensing goes hand in hand with the trademark process. To guard against unsolicited sales or use of our marks from entities aside from the university, we partnered with Collegiate Licensing Company, LLC (CLC) to
launch the Core81 Platform on February 1. Vendors we work with to produce branded items of any kind need to go through Core81 to become licensed. If you are working with any vendors for branded products, please contact Jennifer Egenolf, Director of Community & Brand Management, to connect them to the Core 81 platform.Â
Thanks for helping us protect our brand!Â

Merit, the platform we launched earlier this year to celebrate student achievements, is ready to promote your incredible students. The software allows us to easily share news about student accomplishments, such as making the Dean's List, scholarship awards, or fellowships, with their hometown media, high schools, lawmakers, and families.
We recently sent out announcements about the more than 450 students who made the Fall Dean’s List. Following the Dean's List announcement:Â
|
|
|
- 15 elected officials commented directly on students' Merit pages congratulating them on their achievement.Â
-
Media outlets in California, Arizona, Illinois, and Wisconsin featured Puget Sound and students who made the Dean's List.Â
- 30 students have updated their Merit online profile with photos, videos, and work experience.
|
Do you know about a student achievement in your department or office? Submit a Merit request through the Lytho project request form today!Â
|
|
|
Thanks for reading (or skimming) all the way to the end. We hope to see you soon!
Sincerely,
Alex, Barb, Calvin, Demetria, Jason, Jennifer, Jonny, Kris, Lindsay, Michael, Tina, and Veronica
