Prof. of International Political Economy Pierre Ly’s book, Adventures on the China Wine Trail (2020), has been translated into Spanish and received a Special Mention from the International Organisation of Vine and Wine. Published in early 2024 as Aventuras en la Ruta del Vino de China, the Spanish edition received recognition in the enotourism category at an award ceremony in Lisboa. In January, Ly toured Spain for two weeks, meeting with media and readers to discuss the book's exploration of China’s wine regions.

The Loggers men's soccer team celebrated their 10 seniors with an exciting 5-0 victory over Lewis & Clark. The team dominated the game, scoring four goals in the first half and one in the second. Key players like Rhys Foote '27, Pema Globus '25, and Ian Cameron '24 contributed significantly to the team's success. With two regular season home games remaining, the seniors look to finish their careers on a high note.

Professor of Biology and Chair of Environmental Studies and Sciences, Peter Hodum, was recently featured on the popular podcast BirdNote. In the BirdNote Daily segment, Prof. Hodum emphasizes the importance of taking action, even if it is small, to address environmental issues to protect birds. His advice? If you can’t directly contribute to a solution, find someone who can, and support their efforts.

With winter break on the horizon, residential students are encouraged to plan ahead for secure parking. A fenced-in area in Lot One near the Wheelock Student Center will be available for vehicles from Dec. 9, 2024, to Jan. 13, 2025, for $85 per vehicle. Reservations open Nov. 11. Students planning an early return can arrange access in advance with Security Services.
While parking on campus is always at your own risk, using the fenced lot is highly recommended to deter break-ins. For questions, contact Security Services at security@pugetsound.edu.
