A World of Possibilities
Director of Academic Advising Landon Wade helps guide students through their Puget Sound experience. He asks lots of questions to get students thinking about how they want to spend their time in and out of the classroom. “I’m most proud of helping students realize this is their life at a unique time in a unique place that opens up the world to possibilities that they may not have known existed," he says. "We know that our liberal arts education leads to successful lives and careers, but helping students realize that life is not a straight path from a specific set of courses to a specific endpoint is really valuable."

DON'T MUCK IT UP Professor Jeff Tepper, geology, and Colin Glaze ’22 collect sediment samples from the bottom of Lake Waughop in Lakewood, Wash., as part of Glaze’s summer research project to identify the effects of alum treatment on the lake. The treatment is intended to reduce the lake’s hazardous algal blooms, improving the lake’s general condition to make it safer for humans and animals, but can have adverse effects on water and sediment chemistry.
