Lifebridge Health Symposium

Beyond the Beside - Traumatic Invalidation and Patient Care

Workshop Alert! Join GW's SMHS RMC/Sinai Lifebridge Hospital Joint Symposium. This session, titled Beyond the Bedside: Traumatic Invalidation and Patient Care, will explore how Jewish patients are increasingly navigating trauma from direct experiences, cultural silencing, and institutional invalidation; as well as how healthcare provides can respond in ways that foster true safety, trust, and healing.

Volunteer for Healthy Athletes Fit Feet screenings at Special Olympics Maryland Summer Games 2026.

Through the Healthy Athletes Program, Special Olympics provides free health screenings and education in nine disciplines, including Fit Feet, which focuses on podiatric health, lower extremity biomechanics, and proper shoe and sock gear for athletes.

Our Healthy Athletes Screening event will take place at Towson University on Saturday, June 13th. This is a wonderful opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities while helping provide valuable health assessments and support to our athletes. Many athletes experience foot and ankle pain or deformities that can impact both athletic performance and everyday movement. Fit Feet screenings help identify these concerns and promote healthier mobility both on and off the playing field.

Volunteer for National Health Literacy Conference

The Institute for Healthcare Advancement is seeking student volunteers for a student-led, national, virtual, pre-med, health literacy conference!

The conference is designed for undergraduate pre-med students who are planning to pursue careers in medicine, with a focus on introducing professional health literacy earlier in their journey. The goal is to help students better understand how communication, trust, and patient experience show up in real-world care. 

The conference planner is looking for pre-med students who are interested in getting involved and helping bring this conference to life in the following ways: 

-Serving as a Session Lead to help shape content and recruit speakers 

-Taking on a Marketing Lead role to guide branding and promotion efforts 

-Joining the Outreach Team to connect with student organizations and expand reach 

-Becoming a Campus Ambassador to promote the conference at your university 

-Contributing ideas for session topics, speakers, or overall conference design

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under direct clinical supervision of the on-site provider, assists in the delivery of patient care. Performs delegated medical tasks, assists physician and nursing staff with patient care and may perform clerical duties. Where electronic system is in use, will utilize the electronic medical record (EMR) for documentation purposes. Fulfillment of job duties requires access to medication storage areas and to transport medications to/ from medication storage and delivery areas. Under direct operational supervision of the manager or designee, participates in the day-to-day operations and patient flow as assigned.
