Commencement 2020
Southern Utah University will honor the Class of 2020 with a special commencement ceremony on Saturday, August 8, at 10 a.m. SUU will follow guidelines issued by the state of Utah at the time of commencement regarding masks and social distancing.  
Commencement outside on the Upper Quad is a return to the traditional location of graduation exercises from 1973 to 1986. For this year only, all college convocations will take place within this one event, and the ceremony will be streamed live on SUTV-9 and into buildings surrounding the Upper Quad.

New Online Degrees
Your alma mater, nationally recognized as one of the most affordable providers of online degree programs, is responding to the growing demand for new online undergraduate degrees by rapidly expanding options starting in the Fall 2020 semester. The new fully online bachelor's degrees include: Criminal Justice, Family Life and Human Development, Finance, History, Marketing, and Political Science.

Chuck Aaron Partnership in Helicopter Upset Training
A Living Legend of Aviation, helicopter pilot Chuck Aaron and his advanced flight academy will become part of SUU and offer the only collegiate helicopter upset recovery and advanced instrument flight training in the world. The advanced training will give industry professionals the chance to learn the critical decision making and flight skills necessary to handle less than ideal weather and visibility conditions.

SUU's Debbie Corum Recognized as Top Female AD
Debbie Corum was recently recognized as the top female athletic director in the country by Athletic Director U. She received an AD rating of 83.0, nearly 22 points higher than the university average of 61.4, and 8.2 points higher than the first runner-up.

July 27: President Wyatt's Summer Reading Club. The Great Influenza: The Story of the Deadliest Pandemic in History by John Barry.  The Great Influenza is about the deadly 1918 Spanish influenza- a virus that “killed more people in twenty-four months than AIDS killed in twenty-four years.” Tune into the President's Podcast for a discussion of the book.
August 1: SUU Day at Lagoon. It will look and feel different this year, but it will take place! Learn more.
