MONDAY: ACHIEVEMENTS
Faculty incorporate public presentations in art class; and more
A 1995 comm media graduate, Dan Rugh has built on what he calls his “broad and weird foundation” from IUP. He started a printing company in Pittsburgh that handles a variety of jobs, including creating Pittsburgh-branded merchandise through a contract with the city. See how he solves problems for clients through his creativity and work ethic in the video Designing a Business: Dan Rugh ’95.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Sharon Massey and Sean Derry, Department of Art and Design, spoke at the STEAM and the Future of Education conference in Portugal last month about their new curriculum that combines digital fabrication with civic engagement. Students in 3D Design courses present their work in public formats ranging from a pop-up store to a mock reality TV show.
