For the second time in four months the online Photography program at Santa Barbara City College has received recognition as one of the best online photography programs in the nation. Using high-quality, researched-based articles and rankings from reputable third-party sources, Great Value Colleges rated the SBCC program number four out of the top 11 colleges and universities in the United States.
Last December Intelligent.com rated the program number seven on a list that included such schools as Yale University and the New York Institute of Photography.
Great Value Colleges recommends the program for its curriculum "carefully designed to build fundamental technical skills," and classes that "emphasize the importance of creativity and build conceptual development skills through a progressive series of thought-provoking assignments."
This summer, Introduction to Photography is being offered in both of the six-week summer sessions. In this online class, students learn the fundamentals of photography including techniques of camera operation, photo composition and lighting, basic digital imaging editing, photo printing paper characteristics, print finishing techniques and image enhancement techniques using industry-standard hardware and software.
Summer session 1 begins May 18; summer session 2 begins June 29.
