Our Unstoppable CNAs

The majority of our workforce is comprised of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and each June we dedicate a week to celebrating them! CNA Week was from June 15-21 and the theme was "We're Unstoppable." A.G. Rhodes simply could not provide high-quality care and services without our CNAs' unstoppable compassion and dedication.

Onsite Dialysis Clinic Supports Improved Care and Quality of Life

Through a partnership with DaVita Kidney Care, A.G. Rhodes has opened our very first onsite dialysis clinic at A.G. Rhodes Atlanta, with another clinic opening soon at A.G. Rhodes Wesley Woods.

Atlanta resident, Ms. Alice Isreal, has been at A.G. Rhodes for six years and on dialysis for 19 years. She describes the new onsite dialysis clinic as "heaven sent" and is so thankful that she does not have to go out in bad weather or sit in a cramped van to get to her appointments three times a week. She says, "It's wonderful and beautiful" and we couldn't agree more!

Pure Joy

Employee Spotlight: Carolyn Roper

When Carolyn started working at A.G. Rhodes almost two years ago, she assumed it would be temporary. She was hired to help implement COVID-19 screening measures as people entered the building. She loved her job.

“It was pure joy to meet so many family members and staff members,” she said.

Last Call: Generation Connect Service Camp for Teens

We still have a couple of spots left for Generation Connect Service Camp, a week-long camp July 17-21 at A.G. Rhodes Atlanta in Grant Park for rising 9th-1th graders. Interested teens should apply now.

Offered in partnership with Pebbletossers—a youth development nonprofit—this fun and unique service opportunity promotes intergenerational relationships between high school students and A.G. Rhodes elders. Participants will also earn up to 30 service hours for graduation and/or club requirements.

A.G. Rhodes Care Solutions offers more opportunities to recruit compassionate staff

A.G. Rhodes recently launched A.G. Rhodes Care Solutions, an internal agency staffed by qualified nursing care partners who work at all three locations to fill staffing gaps.

In recent years, the healthcare industry—particularly the nursing home sector—has faced significant workforce challenges that have been exacerbated by COVID-19. A.G. Rhodes Care Solutions helps fill in workforce gaps with an internal team of compassionate, trained staff, while decreasing the organization’s reliance on external staffing agencies.

A.G. Rhodes Recognized for Media and Community Outreach

Earlier this month, A.G. Rhodes received the 2023 Georgia Health Care Association (GHCA) Terry J. Bryant Media Award for its exceptional media and community outreach. We are grateful for our partnership with GHCA as we work together to change the perception of aging and elevate our professions. Watch the short video below about the award.

Another Dream Fulfilled

A.G. Rhodes teamed up again with Second Wind Dreams to fulfill a dream for one of our residents. Mr. David Waters, a resident at A.G. Rhodes Cobb, is a huge sports fan and has long dreamed of going to an Atlanta United Game. He not only got to attend, but he enjoyed the game from the comfort of the Gullwing Club Suite! Thank you to Second Wind Dreams for your partnership in helping make elders' dreams come true.

Summertime Fun!

We've had quite the summer so far, with so many fun activities and events. From Senior Prom (it's not just for high school students!) to dance recitals to art class to a Men's Night, there's been something for everyone to enjoy. Thank you to all our volunteers and community members who help keep our residents and communities looking their best!
