Executive Director Update

2022 In Review 2022 was an exciting and productive year for the Lilburn CID, and our December board meeting was no exception. Your CID board:

- Accepted a clean financial audit for 2021.
- Formally adopted the completed LCI study. We anticipate adoption by the City Council in March 2023.
- Enhanced our revenue through investment in Georgia Fund 1.
- Approved our 2023 Budget.
- Completed the Wayfinding Project
- Made plans for the construction of the Hood Rd/Bryson Park Intersection Project

In 2022, Lilburn CID conducted and completed a year-long update of the 2010 Lilburn LCI Study with Sizemore Group to create a 10-year vision for Old Town Lilburn and the US 29 corridor that incorporated the feedback and involvement of our local community. The project was funded by a $120,000 grant from ARC, and a $30,000 SPLOST grant from Gwinnett County. Stakeholders for this initiative included representatives from the City of Lilburn, the DDA, the CID, Lilburn Business Association, residents and other community leaders. This study includes a series of recommendations that we will implement in the coming years.
The design for the Hood Road/Bryson Park intersection project was completed in 2022. Currently, we have commitments of $3 million in funding, including commitments from the City, the County DOT as well as a $1 million grant from the Georgia Transportation Infrastructure Bank (GTIB). We plan to complete the funding effort and begin construction in 2023.
As part of the CID’s beautification initiatives, we entered into a contract with Russell Landscaping for continued landscape installation and maintenance, trash pickup and maintenance throughout the district. Through this, we hope to create a more beautiful, clean and safe Lilburn throughout 2023.
Lilburn CID’s partnership with the Lilburn Police Department continued through funding of security cameras and other public safety programs. We join the LPD in making Lilburn the safest city in Georgia.
We now look forward to an even more exciting 2023, with the construction of Hood Road/Bryson Park intersection project, implementation of the LCI study, and a significant expansion of the CID boundary.
It is an honor and a pleasure to serve as the LCID Executive Director and I am excited to see what the coming year holds.

Keeping Lilburn Safe - Flock Camera Addtions

Lilburn is one of the safest cities in Georgia, and LCID supports initiatives to maintain the community’s security and well-being. In the fall of 2022, Lilburn CID and the City of Lilburn both purchased four Flock license plate reading cameras in our district for use by the City of Lilburn Police Department. In total, LCID has funded 11 cameras within the district to assist the City Police Department with traffic monitoring and investigation. These cameras work with the existing network of cameras within the County to create comprehensive coverage and support law enforcement in investigations for crimes committed within Lilburn as well as for apprehending suspects coming to Lilburn after committing crimes elsewhere.
For those interested in learning more about how Lilburn’s Police Force supports our communities, the City of Lilburn Police Department’s Citizens Police Academy is now open for applications. Learn more here.

The City of Lilburn Adopted the Resolution to Expand LCID

At the start of the year, The City of Lilburn adopted the resolution to expand the boundaries of LCID to include businesses beyond the boundaries of Old Town Lilburn.
While the City has not yet formally adopted the LCI study, officials have expressed positive feedback towards the result and are optimistic to discuss adoption during the county’s retreat in January.
