Philippians 4:19
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
New International Version (NIV)
Do you have a back-up plan?  Plan B?  Paul did not.  But watch his possessive pronouns if you would like to understand his confidence.  "My God . . ."  Paul had staked all on his call.  God was his.  With Solomon he could say, "I am my beloved's and He is mine . . ."  Paul's confidence resided firmly and permanently in the God he knew.  I know God is God.  Is he your God?  If not, who or what is?

"Your needs . . ."  Everyone has needs.  Paul's needs had been graciously supplied by the Philippian believers.  He was grateful so he wrote to thank them.  He knew how to abound, and he knew how to stretch what he had.  But even more he believed that God had the ability to supply the needs of the generous Philippians who had supplied his needs.

"His riches in glory . . ."  How does Paul know God can supply the needs of his people in Philippi?  The door to his treasure store is marked "Glory . . ."  God has all the riches he needs in his eternal glory.  God does not lack.  Consequently, his people will not lack.  The righteous are not forsaken.  Paul's eyes have seen the glory, so he will not live in fear.  Is your God rich enough to take care of you?  If he isn't you must find the One who is.  His name is Jesus.  Is he yours?  Glory!

 Pray with me:
Father, we thank you that our confidence in you is well-placed today.  Jesus, Jesus how we trust you, how we have proved you o’er and o’er.  Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus, o for grace to trust you more!  In the gloriously rich name of Jesus we pray.  Amen.
