Nepal 2015 Student Mission Trip
Sterling College Missions
Team Nepal (left to right): Josh Hood, Ryan Ferguson, Melissa Jackson, Micah Oelze, Michaela Moore, Hayley Ray, Emily Allen, Dayton Winter and Matt Rich.

Every year Sterling College offers students the opportunity to serve on a variety of short-term mission trips in places all across the world. Teams are led by fellow students, staff, faculty and even alumni. These mission trips give students the opportunity to explore their calling, passions and purpose in life as well as connect with and build relationships with new and fellow believers.
This summer, Team Nepal will find themselves draped along the greatest heights of the Himalayas - Nepal - where the ice cold of the moutains meets the unrelenting heat of the Indian plains. With 80% of Nepal's population dependent on agriculture, many people live in underdeveloped areas. Team Nepal will be ministering in these underdeveloped villages, mostly in churches, teaching basic hygiene, teaching English, discipling through Bible teaching, ministring to women and cultivating relationships with the village children.
As Team Nepal prepares for their journey, one particular verse that has come up in discussion as they seek to understand how Christianity may be viewed in a country where only 2% know Christ as their Savior is 1 Corintheans 1:18, "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
Please consider prayerfully supporting Team Nepal as they seek God for words of wisdom, clearity of mind, and peace of understanding. Please pray that each member of the team will receive the financial dollars they need to go on this mission trip and that the Holy Spirit be with them on this trip.
If you are at a financial place where you can financially support Team Nepal, you may do so online through Global Infusion. If you would like to donate to the missions program at Sterling College, not specifically to a missions team, you may send a check to Sterling College with "Missions" written in the memo line.
This was a special feature written by Teryn Irvin '12, manager of alumni and marketing at Sterling College. I hope it leaves you encouraged, inspired, and hopeful to do the things God has called you to - be it in your home, your church, at work, in your hometown or across the world. Mark 4:1-20.

Career Services - SC Networking Night

Are you interested in professional outreach to students at SC - sharing internship opportunities, job openings and networking? Join us at one of our Networking Nights.
Networking Night is an event where Sterling College students learn and practice networking skills by interacting with employers, alumni, and community leaders. While we are hopeful that an internship and/or job opportunity arises from Networking Night, the primary purpose of this event is to provide a learning opportunity for our students.
Your role as the professional would be to:
1) Visit about the students' career aspirations
2) Discuss with students the path that led you to where you are in your career today
3) Let students know of any job openings at your company, if any
4)
Provide students with contact information for the people in your own career network
5) Provide feedback to students about their networking skills
If you are interested in being a part of Networking Night, please email Teryn Irvin at alumni@sterling.edu. Or, for more information, contact the director of career services at career@sterling.edu.
