Every year Sterling College offers students the opportunity to serve on a variety of short-term mission trips in places all across the world. Teams are led by fellow students, staff, faculty and even alumni. These mission trips give students the opportunity to explore their calling, passions and purpose in life as well as connect with and build relationships with new and fellow believers.
This summer, Team Nepal will find themselves draped along the greatest heights of the Himalayas - Nepal - where the ice cold of the moutains meets the unrelenting heat of the Indian plains. With 80% of Nepal's population dependent on agriculture, many people live in underdeveloped areas. Team Nepal will be ministering in these underdeveloped villages, mostly in churches, teaching basic hygiene, teaching English, discipling through Bible teaching, ministring to women and cultivating relationships with the village children.
As Team Nepal prepares for their journey, one particular verse that has come up in discussion as they seek to understand how Christianity may be viewed in a country where only 2% know Christ as their Savior is 1 Corintheans 1:18, "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."
Please consider prayerfully supporting Team Nepal as they seek God for words of wisdom, clearity of mind, and peace of understanding. Please pray that each member of the team will receive the financial dollars they need to go on this mission trip and that the Holy Spirit be with them on this trip.
If you are at a financial place where you can financially support Team Nepal, you may do so online through Global Infusion. If you would like to donate to the missions program at Sterling College, not specifically to a missions team, you may send a check to Sterling College with "Missions" written in the memo line.
