| The Boren Fellowship: Language and Public Service

This workshop will cover each step in the Boren, from starting your application to critical deadlines. The Boren Fellowships seek to increase the study of geographic areas and languages which are critical to U.S. national interests, yet remain underrepresented in study abroad. Meet the Generative AI Moment with Authentic Learning

The availability of generative AI tools has created many questions and concerns amongst educators across institutions of higher education. This one-hour workshop will both provide a high-level explanation of how these tools work, along with insights from colleagues across disciplines at UChicago about how they’ve been approaching this change in the educational landscape. Attendees will receive context to make an informed decision about how to approach these tools and address the topic with their students.

CCTE 50000: Course Design and College Teaching

In Autumn 2025, Chicago Center for Teaching and Learning will offer Course Design and College Teaching (CCTE 50000), a higher ed pedagogy course for grad students, aimed at those preparing to teach a course of their own. Course meets Wednesdays, 2:30–4:20 pm. Complete preregistration survey by September 8.
Volunteer for the South Side Science Festival!
The South Side Science Festival is returning to Crerar Quad on Saturday, October 4, and we need volunteers to support the mission of creating a space Where Science is for Everyone. There are multiple opportunities to be involved. If you are interested in lending a helping hand before or during the event, please complete the volunteer form by Friday, September 19.
Registration open for Growing Together!
Growing Together is a five-week series where a diverse mix of ~15 students from across all divisions of graduate and professional schools come together once a week for dinner, thoughtful discussion, and to practice creative ways of getting to know themselves and their peers. The themes discussed include knowing yourself, finding joy, self-compassion, and vulnerability. Autumn Quarter dates are October 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30, meeting in the Student Wellness Center (840 E 59th St). Register today!
