Congratulations to Susie Gelman, Past President of Federation, on her appointment by President Biden as Commissioner of the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom. The Commission is an independent, bipartisan panel established by Congress to report on religious freedom overseas and make policy recommendations to the president, the secretary of state, and Congress.

One Happy Camper: Mid-Summer Update
Through The Jewish Federation and the Foundation for Jewish Camp's One Happy Camper incentive grant program, 284 first-time campers have gotten the opportunity to experience Jewish overnight camps this summer. Through One Happy Camper grants, Federation remains steadfast in our commitment to ensure all children can discover a deep connection to Jewish community, values, culture, and tradition.

| Film Screening: SHTTL
Join Federation partner, Edlavitch DCJCC's JxJ, for a special free screening of SHTTL, the story of the inhabitants of a Yiddish-Ukrainian village at the border of Poland, 24 hours before the Nazi invasion, known as Operation Barbarossa. Following the film, there will be a Q&A discussion with Congressman Jamie Raskin, director Ady Walter, and actor Saul Rubinek.

| Finding Our Roots Through Yizkor Books
Join The Generations After for a virtual program with Dr. Eliyana R. Adler, Associate Professor of History and Jewish Studies at Pennsylvania State University, about Yizkor Books and how they memorialize the Jewish communities of Eastern Europe destroyed by the Holocaust. There will also be a pre-recorded presentation from the Dorot Jewish Division of the New York Public Library with an overview of the origins and contents of the books and how to access them. There is no fee for the program, but donations are appreciated.
