Tomorrow marks the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which mandates equal opportunity for and prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities. Clemson remains committed to accessibility, offering many resources to students, faculty and staff who live with a disability.

ENGINEERING ACCESSIBILITY

Through the research of Julian Brinkley M ’23, Dean’s Associate Professor of Human-Centered Computing, the integration of technology and transportation is becoming more inclusive for people with disabilities. Brinkley discusses how he combines his personal passion with his academic expertise to create meaningful impact — and is equipping students to do the same.

ONE STEP AT A TIME

Adam Gorlitsky accomplished what many thought was impossible, setting Guinness World Records as a marathon runner thanks to determination and the help of a robotic walking device. After partnering with Clemson on an exoskeleton race at the Palmetto Games, he’s teamed up with University engineers to advance powerful mobility technology for the masses.
