BCRTA - Schedules & Map, Dial-a-Ride Info, Fares & Passes, General Information, Doing Business, Contact
The BCRTA offers several routes within Oxford (university route), and around the county (regional route). Bus rides are free to all Miami students with your student ID - just swipe the pay meter inside the bus! Without your ID, BCRTA sells individual ride tickets for $2.00.
TIP:  Download all the bus schedules you need to your phone so you can pull them up before you leave. There are also bus schedules located inside the busses if you want a hard copy. Here's the breakdown:
  • U1 is the campus core route
  • U2 is park and ride (especially helpful for commuters)
  • U3 is the Tollgate loop
  • U4 is the Western/North loop.
The R1 is the Hamilton/Middletown shuttle. The R2 is the Oxford/Middletown shuttle, R3 is the Hamilton/Oxford connector and the R4 is the Tri-County shuttle.
NOTE: Some of the routes have changed for Spring Semester!
Meet the CCA's - Commuter Center Assistants.
Bri Mariles
Hi guys! I’m Bri and this is my first year working as a Commuter Center Assistant and I’m super excited and looking forward to working with commuters! I am a freshman here at Miami with a major in Kinesiology and Pre-med. I’m hoping to work in the medical field and join Doctors without Borders. I also work at Kohl’s in Bridgewater Falls in Liberty Township. I am in a club here at Miami called Global Medical Brigades and will be traveling to Nicaragua in May! I’m also a part of Commuters of Miami or Commuter Council. I love not only working in the Commuter Center but also hanging out and talking with other commuters and off-campus students as well. If you ever have any questions or even just want to have a conversation feel free to email me!

Aisha Fichtner
Hi everybody! My name is Aisha Fichtner and this will be my second year working as one of your Commuter Center Assistants. I’m also the treasurer of Commuters of Miami (an awesome club that you should join!). I’m an honors sophomore student here at Miami and I’m currently majoring in Nutrition with a focus on Dietetics. I live at home in West Chester with my parents, my younger sister and my dog (Wishbone) and hedgehog (Loki). I’m a vegan foodie and I’m very passionate about all things food and health! Chipotle is the best fast food ever (I love getting a veggie burrito with guac!). I’m obsessed with travelling and I’m lucky enough to fly to Switzerland every year to visit my mom’s side of the family; this past summer we visited Venice for a few days too. I love working in the Commuter Center and if you ever have questions or concerns, please let us know, we are here to help make your commuter experience at Miami a great one!

SURVIVING YOUR WINTER COMMUTE

In case of any campus snow days or any emergencies that might happen, Miami University has an emergency text messaging system. Be sure to sign up for the text system (you are already enrolled with your email address)
Some more tips for winter driving:
    1. Check your email every morning before you head out for class to check if any professors canceled class. At the beginning of the semester, mention to your professor that you are a commuter and would appreciate if they could email you when they plan to cancel a class ahead of time.

    2. Make sure your car is prepared for the winter weather before you drive. Ensure you have good tires, traction, and brakes. Pack an extra blankets/coats in your car just in case you break down in the cold. Keep a scraper and a brush in the side door in case it snows through the day.

    3. Head out early to leave time for slow driving. Scrape ice and snow off all windows before driving. If your key hole tends to freeze over, do NOT use hot water as this will only make things worse. Instead, invest in a can of lock de-icer which can be found at Walmart for about $3. Always brake early and slowly when driving in the snow. Also, remember that bridge surfaces, shadows, and low spots where water can collect will be the first areas to freeze.

    4. Have your bus schedule handy either hard copy or on your phone if you use the BCRTA system.

Overall, be decisive and consider safety first when deciding whether or not to drive in winter weather.
