Meridian Tech Offers Introduction to Costume Designing for Film
Meridian Technology Center’s South Campus in Guthrie will host Introduction to Costume Designing for Film, a foundational course exploring the role of costume design in visual storytelling on Feb. 3 and 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. Taught by costume designer Valerie Parker (“Horrified,” “Reverence”), the course examines how wardrobe choices support character development, establish tone and enhance narrative.

deadCenter Film to Host Advanced High School Screenwriting Workshop
Applications are now being accepted for deadCenter University + Oklahoma City Community College Writer’s Room Workshop to be held Feb. 28 and March 7, at Oklahoma City Community College’s (OCCC) Visual and Performing Arts Center. Led by filmmaker Matt Payne, this advanced student workshop is free to attend for up to 15 selected high school student applicants with a 5–7 page script written for production on the OCCC campus. Three scripts from this workshop will advance to a collaborative writer’s room with the top script to be produced in June 2026 and premiere at the 2026 deadCenter Film Festival. Applications are due Jan. 30.

ACM@UCO Launches 24/7 Radio Show
The University of Central Oklahoma’s Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM@UCO) has launched ACM@UCO Radio, a radio station built around discovery, deep cuts and music with meaning curated by ACM CEO and longtime Flaming Lips manager Scott Booker. Drawing from a personal archive of more than 45,000 records and decades of experience in the music industry, Booker has curated a listening experience that spans genres, eras and scenes as well as local artists and alumni from the school. Listen now via streaming or on traditional broadcast radio locally in OKC/Edmond radio at 90.1 FM HD3.

Shine on Oklahoma Music Spotlights Local Talent
Produced by the Oklahoma History Center and Oklahoma County, Shine on Oklahoma Music is a captivating series that celebrates the rich musical legacy of Oklahoma, showcasing the incredible talent that has emerged from the state. Hosted by Brian Maughan, the program’s latest episode features Pake McEntire, brother of Oklahoma music icon Reba McEntire.
