Reflection by Dianne Traflet, J.D., S.T.D.
During this first week of Lent, I have been taking consolation and hope in Jesus’ words: “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find….” (Mt. 7:7)
Dear Lord, I seek you!
With the Psalmist, I pray: “Your face, Lord, do I seek.” (Psalm 27:8)
When I am trudging along a darkened way, please Lord, let me catch the light of your gaze.
When I am discouraged, please, Lord, permit me to see your eyes of encouragement.
When I am taking myself much too seriously, please, Lord, let me see your smile.
When I am experiencing challenges, please, Lord, allow me to behold your compassionate countenance.
With every step I take, please, Lord, permit me to see your gaze of love.
As you gifted Veronica, please bestow on me an imprint of your loving face. May that imprint become emblazoned on my heart and so transform my life.
Throughout this Lent, may I have the grace to persevere as I seek to behold your face of Love.
