PSU Choirs Presents: Bloom |
Take a study break and unwind with an evening of festive harmony, heartfelt collaboration, and the timeless power of voices raised together, featuring the PSU Rose, Thorn, Briar and University Choirs. PSU graduate students will present the work they’ve cultivated throughout their studies. Like petals opening toward the sun, this recital is a showcase of artistry in full bloom – featuring fresh conducting voices and imaginative programming from the next generation of choral educators and leaders.

Climb and build community at Queer Climb night this Tuesday! No experience or registration required. Introductions, ice-breakers and an overview of the space will start at 5:30 p.m., but you can drop in anytime from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Take the climber orientation quiz, grab a wristband and check out your climbing gear at Member Services before using the Climbing Center. This is open to all students and members.

Go on an outdoor adventure this Spring Break with an amazing special from the Outdoor Program! Before the spring break closure, rent gear for 11 days for the price of 4 from Friday, March 20 - Monday, March 30. Additional days will be charged standard extra day fees.Â

Vikings are two wins away from March Madness |
The Portland State Vikings men’s basketball team is headed to the Big Sky Tournament semifinals after defeating Idaho State last night.
Two more wins could send the Vikings to the NCAA Tournament in Indianapolis — and students can cheer them on at watch parties this week.
Tuesday — March 10 | Semifinals | 6 p.m.

Wednesday — March 11 | Championship | 8:30 p.m.

If the Vikings win the Big Sky Championship:
A Selection Sunday watch party will be held at Viking Pavilion on March 15.
Doors open at 2 p.m. and the NCAA Tournament selection show begins at 3 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

New Provost for Portland State |
PSU President Ann Cudd announced that the university’s next Provost will be Dr. Robert Williams, starting in the 2026-2027 academic year. Dr. Williams will join PSU from California State University, East Bay.
As Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Williams will oversee all academic programs and student support services. Williams has deep experience expanding access to higher education.

Represent your graduating class as a student speaker at commencement. Applications are open to graduating students and are due Wednesday, April 15. If you’re interested, learn more about the process on the Student Speakers page.Â

Do you have an exceptional supervisor? |
If you’re a student employee, take a moment to recognize the hard work, dedication and commitment of your supervisors by nominating them for the 2026 Student Employee Supervisor Award. PSU will honor their exceptional contributions at the Student Employment Celebration in May. There are two award categories for supervisors: Outstanding Innovator and Professional Developer. One finalist from these categories will be selected as Student Employee Supervisor of the Year. The deadline for nominations is Thursday, March 19.

Shape PSU's future as a student trustee |
The Associated Students of PSU student government (ASPSU) is selecting one undergraduate student to serve on the PSU Board of Trustees. Represent students in decision-making on tuition rates, the university budget, presidential evaluations and PSU’s strategic direction. The two year appointment includes a seat on one of three board committees. Applications are due Wednesday, March 11.

Use your voice, make an impact and learn valuable political skills in a dedicated community. Apply to be a member of The Associated Students of PSU student government (ASPSU) for the 2026-2027 academic year. Roles include president, vice president, senators or student fee committee members. Candidate applications are due April 1.Â

Your suggestions are needed – think Viking pride! Submit your suggestion by Friday, March 20. The winner receives a $25 PSU Bookstore gift certificate and bragging (wagging) rights!

Skip the first week rush and secure your spring term parking, transit or bike permits now. Purchase any permit type on the transportation office website. Oregon Pell Grant recipients automatically qualify for the TriMet Reduced Fare Program for a discounted monthly rate. Not a Pell recipient? You may still qualify, so get verified with Trimet online, or get assistance at the transportation office, located in the Campus Rec (ASRC)Â building with the entrance on SW 6th Ave.Â

PSU offers free class on antisemitism |
History professor Natan Meir is once again offering a free, one-credit course called Antisemitism during the Spring term. The "mini-course" is asynchronous and self-paced. Class materials will include short readings, videos and podcasts.
