| “I wish I couldn’t draw.” “Learning to play an instrument was a huge mistake.” “Why did I bother to be a part of the school play?” “I should have taken more study hall instead of gaining confidence in my singing voice.” SAID NO ONE EVER. But how often I have heard adults express regret that they did not do more of these life-giving, lifelong activities during their school years. As we reach the end of our first semester and look back on all of the special moments in learning new skills and sharing them with others, I am all the more reminded of the need to encourage our students to seize the day, and enrich their lives through these activities. And stay tuned to next semester - the best is yet to come!

Congratulations to the cast of It's a Wonderful Life: Radio Play directed by interim high school theatre director Brian Michael Jones, on their recent successful run of shows Dec. 2-4. In addition to our Theatre Faculty and students, the production was a collaboration with our Orchestra Program directed by Mrs. Grant and the iWonder Makerspace team led by Mr. McConnel, with student involvement in creating elements of the Foley Table devices which created sound effects like those used in Radio Theatre.

| The Second grade December Musical, “A Place in the Christmas Choir,” was a huge holiday success! Happy the Hound, (Nolan Reynolds), with Rudolph, (Emily Gibson), Mrs. Claus, (Avett McGee), joined Santa, (Callan Bowen), to direct his choir in a medley of songs like Angels we have Heard on High, Jingle Bells and the Hallelujah Chorus, while Happy the Hound howled perfectly along! This musical taught us that everyone has special talents, we just need to find where they can shine the brightest, and that we should never leave anyone out in the cold! Directed by Melissa Collins and Suzanne “Mama” Craig.
