Academic Success
Welcome, Class of 2023!
My name is Maribeth Kelly, and I am the Academic Success Coach at Christendom College. I am very excited to welcome each one of you to campus this Fall. In the meantime, I’d like to share with you some of the student support services available on campus, specifically those related to your academic life.
We offer an array of academic support services to our students, ranging from Office Hours with Faculty, to workshops on Time Management, Note-Taking, Study Skills, Writing Papers, Test-Taking Tips and Learning Styles. Additionally, we provide Tutoring in Math and Languages and access to our experienced Writing Center staff throughout the semester. I’d also highly recommend participation in the Mentor Program, which pairs an incoming student with an experienced upperclassman to assist him or her with fully embracing the academic life. One of your main academic support services is Academic Coaching. If at any point in the semester you are feeling overwhelmed or simply do not know where to turn, you are always welcome to come into the academic success coach office and discuss a way to move forward. We have tea, a miniature sandbox, and professional expertise in listening to your concerns and creating a personalized study plan for you to catch up in your courses and assignments. We have an open-door policy and would love to meet with you! It is never too late to commit to success!
As a last note, we also offer reasonable Accommodations for students with learning disabilities or other impairments that may affect their life at the College. If you are interested in pursuing an accommodation, please give me a call or send me an email this week to begin the application process. Then, we can set you up with the tools and resources you need to be successful from day one!
