Let's Get Together
As the crisp autumn air settles in, the joy of tailgating fills parking lots outside busy stadiums, creating a symphony of cheers and camaraderie. Thanksgiving and Friendsgiving celebrations invite us to embrace tradition and togetherness, as tables filled with delicious feasts are shared with loved ones. On November 11, our hearts swell with gratitude as we honor U.S. and Canadian veterans, acknowledging their sacrifice and service. And World Kindness Day reminds us of the power of a simple act of compassion.
Join us on our thankful fall journey of connection and appreciation.

FMCA Tech Connect+
"I have been using the Tech Connect AT&T (and before the AT&T was available, T-Mobile) unlimited hot spot for about two years now. I have traveled from NH to Key West, from Key West northwest to Seattle, from Seattle to LA, and now through AZ, NM and into Texas without ever losing service that I can recall. I am a full-timer, and my wife and I both work from our RV. We depend on Tech Connect for all our internet needs, from TV to emails and work downloads and uploads. When I have had a question, I call and get right through to an expert with little or no hold time. I cannot recommend FMCA Tech Connect enough."

Tailgate — The RV Way
Before you embark on your road trip to support your team, remember that preparation is the key to a smooth journey. Start by ensuring that your RV's generator is in working order and that your vehicle's maintenance is up to date. Once you've addressed these essential practicalities, consider some items to boost team spirit during your tailgating adventure.
Portable Cornhole. When you're out on the road supporting your favorite team, portable cornhole boards become an excellent addition to your tailgating gear. Traditional cornhole boards can be heavy and bulky, but these portable versions are designed for convenience. This set is incredibly lightweight (less than 5 pounds) and can be easily stored in a compact bag, ensuring that you can enjoy the game without worrying about space constraints. With these portable boards, you can bring the excitement of cornhole to any location, making your tailgate gatherings even more enjoyable.
Custom Can Coolers. Tailgating is all about showcasing your team spirit, and custom can coolers are a fantastic way to do just that. These drink holders can be personalized to your heart's content. You can add your team's logos, names, or any other design you prefer, and choose the colors that represent your team's identity. The company offering these can coolers goes the extra mile by providing you with a draft of the artwork. This ensures that you know exactly what you're getting and allows you to fine-tune the design to perfectly match your team's aesthetics. Keeping your drinks cold while proudly displaying your team's colors has never been more enjoyable.
Grill Utensil Caddy. Food is a central element of any successful tailgate party, and a grill utensil caddy is a valuable addition to your gear. It not only keeps your cooking utensils organized but also provides storage for various essentials. Whether you're cooking on the grill during a tailgate, while camping, or on the road, this caddy has you covered. It can hold plates, cookware, an assortment of sauces, meat, and even some cold refreshments. With everything neatly stored and easily accessible, your culinary endeavors during your tailgating adventures will be a breeze, allowing you to focus on enjoying the festivities.
You can learn more about tailgating and how to utilize your RV to maximize the experience — including intel on which National Football League stadiums allow tailgating and which do not — here.

Honoring Our Veterans
This month, Veterans Day observances recognize the brave U.S. men and women who have selflessly served their country. Even though World War I officially ended on June 28, 1919, when the Treaty of Versailles was signed, fighting ceased seven months earlier when an armistice went into effect on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. To preserve the historical significance of this date, Veterans Day continues to be observed on November 11, regardless of what day of the week it falls on. Canadians also celebrate Remembrance Day on November 11 to honor the men and women who have served their country.
This year on Veterans Day and Remembrance Day, take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by the millions of American and Canadian men and women to ensure our freedom. To all FMCA members who are veterans, we thank you for your service!
For more history behind Veterans Day, check out this article from the November 2023 issue of Family RVing magazine. You can find Veterans Day and Veterans Month events organized by state here.

Van Vs Chef: Who Wins?
If you enjoy Food Network-style cooking competitions, take a gander at “Van Vs. Chef,” presented by Cutwater Spirits and Vanspeed, a Mercedes-Benz custom van converter. The pilot episode features chef and cookbook author Sarah Glover, who has traveled the world in search of amazing food and wild adventures. Host Evan Johnson challenges her to an “epic culinary face-off.” Her task: prepare a three-course meal for a party of six using a Vanspeed Sprinter van conversion off the grid — in just three hours — incorporating several mandatory ingredients, plus foods she’s foraged in the wild. Sarah seems up for the challenge. Her newest book, Open Skies Cookbook: A Wild American Road Trip, takes readers across the U.S. to show the joys of cooking on the open road. As for the episode, view it here.

Take A Hike!
But we mean it nicely. On November 17, celebrate a day outdoors on the trails in honor of National Hiking Day, also called National Take A Hike Day. Regardless of its name, the day offers some motivation to enjoy the benefits of outdoor exercise on more than 60,000 miles of trails across the United States, and thousands more in Canada. Hiking is great exercise — you can burn as much as 550 calories per hour while getting away from it all and savoring nature’s beauty. It also releases endorphins to make you happy. Perhaps best of all, hiking is for all ages. Follow the trail wherever it leads, 365 days a year.

Kindness Rocks!
RVers, particularly FMCA members, are known for their generous donations of time and treasures wherever the road leads. “Leave a place better than you found it” is often heard among the RVing ranks. So, it seems fitting to recognize World Kindness Day, which is November 13. This international observance serves as a reminder that kindness has a positive impact on individuals, communities, and the world at large. Of course, we don’t need an official day to speak a kind word to another, help a neighbor in need, buy a stranger’s coffee, or practice other random acts of kindness. Let’s pay it forward!
