Gretchen Domek: From Honors to Global Impact |
Dr. Gretchen Domek, a former Honors College student and Rhodes Scholar, recently returned to campus to share her story with current students. She spoke about her diverse experiences, including writing an Honors thesis, becoming a member of the U’s ski team, meeting Queen Elizabeth II and Nelson Mandela, attending Oxford University and Harvard Medical School, and pursuing a career as a pediatrician and professor. Dr. Domek's passion for child development and language acquisition led her to research and implement early childhood programs in underserved communities in Guatemala, China, and the United States. Dr. Domek later cheered on the Utes at a University of Utah football game. Her visit was a reminder of the boundless possibilities that await Honors College students. Read more about Dr. Domek below.
