Enhancements to The George Washington University Retirement Plans

We recently announced enhancements to the GW retirement plans that will take effect January 2025. Below please find additional details and transition resources available to you. Plan participants will also be receiving the materials included below by mail. We encourage you to utilize the guidance and informational tools to help you maximize your savings for retirement.

| Summary of the Enhancements |
|
As a reminder, the basic design of the retirement plans, including contribution rates, eligibility requirements, and recordkeepers (TIAA and Fidelity) will remain the same. However, beginning in January 2025, the GW retirement plans will also provide the following enhancements:

Streamlined fund offerings across all plans
- New fee structure with reduced expense ratios
- A self-directed brokerage option in all plans

The GW retirement plans are an important part of your employee benefits package. While there is no action required by you at this time, to ensure your retirement plan elections are still on track to help you reach your retirement goals, please take this opportunity to review your account(s) and read through the newly available transition resources below.
We invite you to review the Transition Guide and visit go.gwu.edu/fundlineup for information on navigating this transition including frequently asked questions about the upcoming enhancements as well as details on the updated investment options, fund transitions, new fee structure, key dates, and more!

Don't forget, participants are able to make changes to their GW plan investment elections, contribution rates, retirement providers, and update beneficiaries through their Fidelity netbenefits.com/GW or TIAA tiaa.org/gwu account at any time.
