Beginning November 4, the Veterans Resource Center will be offering free aural acupuncture treatments for veterans, facilitated by Dr. Cynthia Ferrier, MD, a certified provider in this evidence-based practice.
This 20-30 minute treatment focuses solely on the external portion of the ears and has been shown to help reduce symptoms associated with PTSD, including anxiety, insomnia, and hyperarousal. Walk-in appointments will be available between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM on November 4, 18, 25 and December 2, 9, and 16. Initial consultations will be about 1hour. Join us for the Community Connections Resource Fair on Wednesday, November 5, at the VRC! This interactive event connects students with both on- and off-campus resources to help build community and support mental well-being. Learn how to recognize and address mental health challenges while discovering services available to you.
The fair will feature PSU organizations such as Student Health and Counseling (SHAC) and community partners including the Returning Veterans Project, Military to VA (M2VA), Portland Vet Center, and more! Lunch will be provided, so stop by, grab a bite, and connect with your campus and community support network.
