A Prayer for the Start of School
And so begins a new year...
May it be a year of learning and growth,
a year of new experiences and understanding.
May each day bring something new and may routine guide your steps.
May your pencils be sharp and your minds even sharper.
May you revel in the joy of each new fact learned, each right answer, each small accomplishment.
May the erasers on your pencils get as much use as the tips.
May you learn that wrong answers can be just as important as right ones.
May you ask questions, lots and lots of questions.
May you make friends and build relationships,
and may you make lifelong connections.
May you be kind, compassionate and polite.
And may this year be filled with blessings…
(Adapted from a prayer by Phyllis Sommer)

Middle School Dress Code Clarification
A section of the MS Handbook was inadvertently omitted. While this section did appear in orientation materials, we’re providing it below to ensure that folks have seen it.
MS DRESS UP DAYS/FIELD TRIP DRESS CODE:
  • Males must wear a dress shirt, tie and long pants.

  • Females must wear a dress or dressy skirt with a dress blouse.

  • Field Trip dress code may be altered based upon the destination/activities.

For clarification, please note the following.
  • “Dress blouses” may be sleeveless as long as they are three-finger widths at the shoulder. Sleeveless blouses may not be worn on regular school days.

  • Dresses with sleeves are difficult to find. Rather than prohibit the wearing of dresses on regular school days, the school has allowed them so long as they are three-finger widths at the shoulder and neatly hemmed & at least mid-thigh in length, including when seated.
