I have been in EO for 14 years.
With every year of my membership, I have realized that the more I put into EO the more I get out of it. This is why I decided to join the board for the first time. In my role as engagement chair, I focus on helping all members to get far greater value from EO than what we each pay in annual dues.
I started my board activity with interviewing former EOers and members from several constituencies within our chapter. These discussions brought out two very clear themes. The first is the strong need to help members get to know more members in a meaningful way - hence the theme “Make Every Connection Count”. We are currently working on several initiatives to facilitate such interactions. The second is to have events that appeal to the wide range of interests of our members. To address this gap, I am working with Lauren Boyer who is the Learning Chair, Taylor Trusty who runs MyEO, and Richard Levychin who is putting on the MasterClass Workshops to have a wider variety, and often more intimate events, to engage in discussions of topics most relevant to our members. This will range from inspirational topics and advanced learning to sushi etiquette to mental health.
I look forward to working with the board to make this a spectacular and impactful year and am always available if you have any suggestions.
