OF+MO Partners with Rodeo Arthouse and OKC Film to Host Free Screening with Q&A
Join OF+MO this Monday, February 6, at 7:00 p.m. at Rodeo Cinema for a FREE screening of the Oklahoma film "Out Of Exile," followed by a panel and Q&A featuring director Kyle Kauwika Harris alongside some of the film’s creative team and representatives from our office and OKC Film and Creative Industries. Utilizing the state’s film incentive, “Out of Exile” filmed in Oklahoma City, Shawnee, Yukon, Tecumseh and Dale. Rodeo Cinema is located at 2221 Exchange Ave. in Oklahoma City’s historic Stockyards District.

Note: The film is intended for mature audiences.


Oklahoma Motion Picture Alliance to Host Oklahoma Film Day at the Capitol
OF+MO is partnering with the Oklahoma Motion Picture Alliance to present Film Day at the Capitol on February 28 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. This FREE event will bring together state legislators and the state’s film industry for an afternoon of insightful demonstrations, meetings and conversations highlighting the economic impact of the film and television industry in Oklahoma. All activities will take place on the second floor rotunda of the Oklahoma State Capitol located at 2300 N. Lincoln Blvd., in Oklahoma City.

Intro to Film Transportation and More Film Courses Offered in February at Francis Tuttle
In partnership with the Film Education Institute of Oklahoma and Prairie Surf, Francis Tuttle Technology Center is offering an Intro to Film Transportation course beginning February 8. This course will introduce students to the specific skills vital to working in a Transportation Department for film and television. Participants will learn everything from industry-specific terminology to setting up a proper basecamp as well as integral set protocols. This course will be taught by Justin Clenard, whose worked on productions such as "Reservation Dogs," "American Underdog" and "Reagan."
Francis Tuttle is also offering courses in the Foundations in Set Painting for Film and Location Scouting & Management, both beginning February 27.
Meridian Technology Center Offering Introduction to Film Industry Course
In partnership with the Film Education Institute of Oklahoma, Meridian Technology's First Capital Film Crew Institute is offering an Introduction to the Film Industry course February 13-23 at the Meridian Technology Center South Campus in Guthrie. Students will become familiar with the film and television vocabulary, set equipment, film crew roles, employable soft skills, networking and other essential knowledge for a career in the film industry. Time will also be spent discussing working conditions associated with a career in the television and film industry. No previous film experience is required for this course. Students will be ready to serve as a Production Assistant upon completion of the course.

Center for Poets and Writers at OSU-Tulsa Offering Introduction to Motion Picture Sound Workshop
The Center for Poets and Writers at OSU-Tulsa is offering an Introduction to Motion Picture Sound workshop in person at the OSU-Tulsa Campus on Saturday, February 11, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. This course will expose students to the basics of recording dynamic and impactful audio for both narrative and documentary film production. During this one-day intensive workshop, students will learn how to use professional gear, including lavalier mics, boom poles, shotgun mics and field recorders. Likewise, students will learn basic theory and techniques that will help ensure they capture clean, usable audio in future film productions. Registration will close at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8.

The Gate House
The Gate House is a beautifully remodeled cabin nestled on 10 acres in the film friendly certified city of Edmond. Built in the 1940s and later remodeled, the cabin includes two living areas, a fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, a unique Japanese soaking tub and a spiral staircase leading to an open loft with bedroom arrangements, a bathroom and shower on the second floor. Additional features include an outdoor koi pond, kid’s playhouse, lookout tower and bridge, all among stunning views of sunrises and sunsets and occasional local glimpses of wildlife, including deer, turkeys and hoot owls. Also serving as an Airbnb to accommodate lodging needs, this camera-ready location has hosted the feature film production of “The Adventures of Jurassic Pet 2: The Lost Secret” as well as a local production from The Skit Guys.

The Church Studio
Located in Tulsa, Okla., and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, The Church Studio is a world-renowned recording studio. Originally constructed in 1915 as Grace Methodist Episcopal Church, Leon Russell purchased the church in 1972 and turned it into a recording studio and home office for Shelter Records. The Church Studio not only operates as a recording and mixing studio but it is also an event center, audio engineering school and boutique museum for tourists to enjoy. In 2022, the studio opened to the public after a five-year, $10 million renovation.
