Broken Arrow Expands Its Film Footprint |
The City of Broken Arrow will host the inaugural Broken Arrow Film Festival October 2-3. Presented by the Muscogee Nation and Visit Broken Arrow, the festival received over 170 submissions from over 30 states. Hosted at the Regal Warren in Broken Arrow, the festival will offer a variety of short films, documentaries, narrative features, comedy and horror selections and filmmaker Q&A sessions.
The Broken Arrow Film Festival builds on the existing success the city has experienced from the film industry with the $100,000 pilot program. The program offers $500 for every 20 room nights at a Broken Arrow Hotel and 10-20% rebate on the cost of production space used during filming. Since launching the local film incentive in 2025, the city reports productions having spent over $500,000 and booked 1,000 hotel nights.
Film festivals provide another opportunity to extend the economic and cultural impact of the industry beyond production. By bringing filmmakers, audiences and industry professionals together, festivals can generate visitor spending while showcasing local talent, communities and filmmaking resources. The Broken Arrow Film Festival joins more than 10 film festivals already throughout Oklahoma each year, further expanding opportunities to showcase the state’s film industry to audiences from across the state, region and country.
