Legislative Priorities Survey from Texas CASA's Public Policy Team Open Until April 6
Texas CASA’s Public Policy Team invites all local CASA program staff, volunteers, and board members across Texas to take part in our Legislative Priorities Survey. As we begin preparing for the 90th Texas Legislative Session in January 2027, we’re gathering ideas, feedback, and proposals to help shape Texas CASA’s legislative priorities.
Your perspective is important to this process. This survey is an opportunity for those working directly with children and families to share insights about the policies and issues that matter most to the CASA community.
| |
We encourage everyone in the network to participate and help inform the priorities that will guide Texas CASA’s advocacy efforts in the upcoming legislative session. Together, your input will help ensure that our legislative priorities reflect the experiences and needs of the entire CASA network.
Please complete this survey by April 6, 2026.

Texas CASA is excited to invite you to two upcoming virtual opportunities to support your engagement in the CASA Story — our unified storytelling campaign for all 74 local CASA programs that will set us up for a successful 2027 Legislative Session. We created the CASA Story to elevate your local impact stories, increase legislative engagement at the local level, and build confidence across the CASA network. These sessions are designed to help you feel prepared and supported as you share your CASA Story and connect with your legislators.

Child Abuse Prevention Month Toolkit (Updated 2026)
Child Abuse Prevention Month is one of our biggest opportunities to step up and educate our friends, families, and neighbors about child abuse and neglect, and how we individually and collectively can help prevent it. To help your program make the most of this opportunity, Texas CASA has created a toolkit that contains a variety of resources, templates, media, and community outreach tips to further your program’s message. In addition, you can find prevention centers and services in your county on the DFPS Family Support Services website.

ACT Advocacy is Safety Advocacy

Children and youth with strong, engaged support networks are far less vulnerable to exploitation and trafficking. Traffickers target isolation — so our advocacy must intentionally rebuild and strengthen connections when they have been broken. Collaborative Family Engagement (CFE) is a practical strategy that helps do exactly that when screening tools like CSE-IT indicate risk.
Read the full article below to learn more about how CASA programs can respond using CFE after a CSE‑IT concern.

Many leadership and young professional courses hosted by local Chamber of Commerce organizations have leaders from non-profits speak during their service training days. See if you can snag an invite to talk about CASA to emerging leaders in your community. If there isn’t a leadership program in your city or county, tag team with another program in your region.
