Dear FSW Families,
At Friends School of Wilmington, we are deeply committed to fostering a learning environment where every student is supported, challenged, and empowered to thrive. With that in mind, I am pleased to share that we will be adding a full-time Learning Specialist to our faculty beginning in the 2025-26 school year.
This role is designed to ensure that all of our students—whether they need additional reinforcement in certain subjects or are ready for supplemental challenges—have the tools and strategies they need to succeed. The Learning Specialist will work closely with our School Counselor (Landis), Division Leaders (Ciara, Corrie, Martina, and Amy), and teachers across all grade levels to enhance differentiated instruction, provide small-group or one-on-one academic support, and help students develop self-advocacy skills.
Welcoming a Learning Specialist to our community represents a deep investment to meet students where they are. Every learner is unique, and this role will strengthen our ability to support the full spectrum of academic journeys here at FSW. Whether a student is working to master foundational skills, building executive functioning strategies, or seeking enrichment beyond grade-level expectations, our Learning Specialist will be a resource for all learners.
Additionally, this position will provide ongoing support for our faculty by offering professional development and guidance in best practices for differentiated learning. By working in partnership with teachers, students, and families, we envision this role will further enhance the individualized, student-centered education that defines FSW.
We are excited about this addition to our team and look forward to keeping you updated throughout the hiring process. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
In Peace,
